Marty Lattman - Advisory Board Member

Martin (Marty) Lattman is a highly experienced business executive, management consultant, and adult educator. Prior to founding his own strategic management consultancy in 2005, he spent more than twenty years in the telecommunications and IT industries. In addition to serving as President and CEO of Rocketseed USA and President of RAD Data Communications, Marty held Vice President positions in marketing, sales management, and strategic alliances at Visual Networks, Racal Datacom, AnswerSoft, and NetWorth. His management experience spans from start-up companies to Fortune 500 corporations such as Xerox and AT&T. Accomplishments include the garnering of several Product of the Year awards, two successful IPO’s, and achievement of $16M in sales within two years of new venture launch.

Over the last eleven years, Marty has focused on strategic planning, leadership development, management training, and organizational effectiveness for a wide variety of consulting clients. He has worked with more than fifty different organizations so far, ranging from small not-for-profits to global corporations to Federal Government agencies. In addition to specific skills such as strategic planning, strategic thinking, innovation, and agility, this work has involved facilitation and mentoring on soft skills such as effective communication, collaboration, team-building, emotional intelligence, and efficient time management. Recently, Marty has done considerable client work with organizational culture and how to mold the desired attributes. This has entailed close collaboration with various HR professionals across a broad range of industries, and includes both web-based and classroom training.

While building his consulting practice, Marty taught in the MBA program at the Johns Hopkins University Graduate School of Business from 2004 - 2011. The courses he taught included marketing, leadership, financial analysis, and strategy. Winner of the outstanding instructor award there in 2004/2005, he served on a number of faculty committees and as an advisor for graduate research projects. He also developed several courses and reviewed textbooks for the school’s curriculum.

Today, Marty is an active faculty member of the American Management Association (AMA). For the last eight years, Marty has taught more than 200 seminars for this renowned global management education institute. He teaches eleven different courses, including Strategic Planning, Developing Executive Leaders, Advanced Executive Leadership, Strategic Agility, and Strategy Execution. In 2014, he was asked to develop a course on Transformational Leadership, which has now become one of AMA’s top leadership seminars. As a customized project in 2016 for one of AMA’s largest clients, he developed and delivered a course on Disruptive Thinking. Marty’s ratings by participants have consistently averaged over 4.7 on a scale of 1-5.

In October of 2013, he was selected by Vistage to become a Chair for one of their CEO peer groups. An experienced Board member for multiple not-for-profit organizations, he is the author of numerous business articles and the book “Manage Your Mission” (available on Amazon). Marty holds a BA from the College of Wooster and an MBA from Cornell University.As an avocation, Marty devoted twenty years to the sport of lacrosse on a volunteer and part-time basis. He served as a head coach at the youth, high school, junior college, and international level. In addition, he was very active in US Lacrosse as a Board member for both the Youth Council and the Men’s Board of Governors. Also at US Lacrosse, Marty served as a certified trainer for their Coaches Education Program. He was one of only eight men’s coaches in the U.S. selected to become a Level 2 trainer, and he conducted more than eighty clinics around the country. In 2008, he was one of only four men’s coaches chosen by US Lacrosse to represent the sport at the national Native Vision all-sports camp in Arizona. While head coach at Montgomery College, he led the Knights in 2009 to their only winning season in school history. He was appointed Vice President of the NJCAA Lacrosse Coaches Association in 2010. Marty founded the Damascus Youth Lacrosse League in 1998, serving as its first commissioner. In 2013, Marty was appointed head coach of the Turkish Men’s National Lacrosse Team.
