Hailing from West Virginia, Thomas attended Morgantown High School where he was an attackman from 2000 to 2003. Coach Moore then went on to play long stick midfield and attack for West Virginia University who is a member of Division I MCLA. Coach Moore was a founding member of the Morgantown Lizards Post-Collegiate Men's Lacrosse Team, has played in international tournaments in Turkey and Israel as part of Team Turkey and plays for the Pittsburgh Octane.
Internationally, Thomas was named the Head Coach of the Turkish National Men's Lacrosse Team in early 2014. In July of 2014 the Republic of Turkey made their first appearance in the Federation of International Lacrosse World Championships, held in Denver, Colorado. Team Turkey finished 22nd in the world and was the second highest ranked newcomer behind Team Israel who finished 7th.
Coach Moore is very involved in youth lacrosse in his home state of West Virginia, coaching the Morgantown High School Boy's Lacrosse Team from 2004-2016. Starting as a volunteer assistant coach, Thomas ascended to head coach from 2008 -2015 where he led the Mohigan Lacrosse Team to four state championship appearances and two state championship titles. Coach Moore has stayed involved after stepping down by coaching the Morgantown Junior Varsity Team in 2016. Thomas was also an assistant coach for the West Virginia University Women's Lacrosse Team from 2009 to 2012.
Aside from lacrosse, Coach Moore graduated from West Virginia University with his Bachelor of Music degree in Music Education and is working towards a Masters in Athletic Coaching. From 2009 to 2016, Thomas was the Director of Music at Clay Battelle Middle/High School, located in Blacksville, WV. In this combined school of 450 students, he was able to grow the music program from under 10 members to over 200, to become one of the premier music programs within West Virginia. Coach Moore also coached boys and girls basketball and football during his tenure at Clay-Battelle Middle/High School. Coach Moore has since stepped down from this teaching role to focus on growing Soft Lacrosse nationally as the Executive Director.
Thomas currently resides in Morgantown, WV with his wife Katie, son Charlie and two dogs Bimmer and Blue.
